Debuting for model year 2013 and produced through 2016, the 981 Boxster introduced an aluminum and steel hybrid structure that shed 77 lbs while increasing wheelbase by nearly three inches. Driven by naturally aspirated 9A1 flat-six engines, this generation marks the final naturally aspirated era for standard Boxster models before turbocharging arrived on the 982. Electric power steering replaced the hydraulic system for the first time, while Porsche Torque Vectoring improved high-speed cornering.
