Privacy Policy
Last updated October 9, 2026
GarageScout LLC, a Delaware limited liability company, operates GarageScout and is responsible for the personal information described in this policy. This policy explains what we collect, why we collect it, and the choices you have. We update the date above when the policy changes.
What we collect
- Account details. Your email address and what you tell us when you request access, and your name and profile photo if you sign in with Google.
- What you save. Cars you save, markets you follow, Hunts you create, your notification settings, and anything you write to us, such as feedback.
- Usage data. Pages you view, links you follow to dealer and auction sites, how you arrived at GarageScout, and basic device and browser information.
- Email activity. Whether our emails reach you, as reported by our email provider.
How we use it
- To sign you in and keep your saved cars, followed markets, and Hunts.
- To tell you when a car you track changes or a new car matches a Hunt.
- To send product updates. You can turn these off at any time.
- To understand how people use GarageScout so we can improve it.
- To protect the service from abuse and automated traffic.
Cookies and similar storage
We use cookies and browser storage to keep you signed in, to remember how you first found GarageScout, and to measure usage. Blocking cookies can sign you out and will stop most analytics.
Who we share it with
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for targeted advertising. We share it only with subprocessors that run parts of GarageScout for us: hosting, database and sign-in, email, analytics, and AI providers that process questions you ask Scout. Each receives only what it needs to do that work. If you sign in with Google, Google also handles that sign-in.
When you follow a link to a dealer or auction site, that site receives your visit under its own privacy policy. We may also disclose information when the law requires it.
How long we keep it
We keep your account information while your account is open. When you ask us to delete your account, we delete your personal information within 30 days, except where the law requires us to keep it.
Your choices and rights
- Change which emails you receive in your notification settings, or use the link in any email.
- Ask us for a copy of your personal information, or ask us to correct or delete it.
- Depending on where you live, you may have further rights under laws such as the California Consumer Privacy Act or the GDPR. We honor these requests and will not treat you differently for making one.
To make a request, email us at the address below.
Children
GarageScout is not for children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their information.
