About GarageScout

Every car, remembered.

GarageScout knows the exact car: its version, its options, and every time it has been for sale. It finds the one you want, shows you what the listing leaves out, and tells you what that car is worth.

§ 01

Buying the car shouldn't be the hard part.

I built GarageScout because it was taking too much work to spend my own money.

I was ready to buy. Instead, I was running the same searches across websites, piecing together incomplete listings, and chasing salespeople. Finding the right car was a job. Figuring out whether to trust it was another.

Every car had someone working to sell it. I needed someone scouting the market for me.

I wanted something that knew the exact car I was after, down to the generation and the gearbox. Something that kept checking dealers, auctions and marketplaces for it, and told me what a listing left out before I wired money or got on a plane.

GarageScout doesn't sell cars. It works for the person buying one.

992 GT3 market

  1. 2.1 · 317 GT3s

    Which GT3?

317 992 GT3s came up for sale in the last 12 months. GT3 or Touring, PDK or manual: four versions, four markets, and more than $36,000 between the cheapest and most expensive sold medians.

You want the fast one. A PDK GT3.

  2. 2.2 · 65 PDK GT3s

    Great. I want yellow.

Of 65 PDK GT3s, 55 had under 10,000 miles. Four were yellow.

Three were Racing Yellow, a standard color. One was Signal Yellow, Paint to Sample: a rarer car, and a different market.

You want the Signal Yellow one. Now you have to find it.

  3. 2.3 · 1 car: Signal Yellow, Paint to Sample

    Where do I find one?

Those 65 cars were listed by 48 different sellers: dealer sites, auctions, marketplaces. Most weeks the car you want isn't among them. When it is, it can be gone within a week.

Nobody checks 48 sellers every week. A Hunt does. When the Signal Yellow car turned up at Ferrari of Miami, the match was in your inbox within hours.

  4. 2.4 · 1 listing: Ferrari of Miami

    Is this the right one?

One listing has 200 photos and a folder of receipts. The next has six photos and "runs great." This one calls it plain Signal Yellow and stops there.

GarageScout's record of the same car knows it's Paint to Sample, what it cost new, and what it sold for.

It's the car you want. Now, what should you pay?

  5. 2.5 · 1 car, asking $289,898

    Is $289,898 fair?

Paint to Sample PDK GT3s have sold for a median of $246,000 (7 sales). This car sold for $241,000 on Bring a Trailer in February 2024, 6,100 miles ago.

And it's listed twice. The same dealer group asks $3,606 less for it at The Collection.

Frequently asked questions

How is this different from searching Bring a Trailer?

Bring a Trailer lets you browse and bid on vehicles listed for auction on its platform. GarageScout carries your requirements across multiple sources, so you can use Bring a Trailer without limiting your search to its inventory.

Does GarageScout sell or inspect the cars?

No. The seller or auction house handles the sale, and a match is not a mechanical inspection. Every car comes with the questions to ask the seller and your inspector. We're building a network of inspection partners: if you run a specialist shop or inspect cars and want to be part of it, email [email protected].

Which sites does GarageScout search?

Dealers, auction houses and marketplaces: 131 and growing, from the big auction sites to specialist dealers.

What cars does it cover?

Enthusiast cars, trucks and SUVs. Motorcycles and other vehicles aren't covered.

How does it know which version a car is?

GarageScout has built the deepest map of enthusiast cars in the world. Every make, model, generation and variant, down to the factory option, wired into a graph of listings and sales that grows every day. AI reads each listing and its photos against that map and names the exact car. When the evidence runs out, it says so, and hands you the question to ask the seller.

Can I sell my car through GarageScout?

Not yet. But our comparable sales show what cars like yours have actually sold for, so you can see what yours is worth.

Can I use GarageScout now?

You can explore the collections now. GarageScout is in private beta and adds new members every week. Request access with the car you're hunting.

What does it cost?

Nothing during the private beta.

How fast will I hear about a match?

Within hours of the car being listed, by email.

Is there a person behind this?

Yes. GarageScout is run by its founder, Chris Mozzocchi, who reads member feedback himself.
