1973 Ferrari Dino 246 GTS
manual · London, United Kingdom
The Dino 246 GT is a transverse mid-engine V6 sports car that Ferrari built and sold under the Dino marque from 1969 to 1974. It succeeded the all-aluminum 206 GT, and it carried that car's mid-engine formula into true series production. Its bodywork was penned by Aldo Brovarone and Leonardo Fioravanti at Pininfarina and built by Scaglietti. Ferrari calls the run of GT and GTS cars commercially very successful. In GarageScout's view, that combination is the reason the car matters: the 246 joined a mid-engine V6 layout and that Pininfarina shape in one production car, offered as the fixed-roof GT and, from 1972, as the open GTS, so one engineering idea reaches the buyer in two distinct bodies, each with its own character.
