Porsche 356B

1959–1963·Series 356B

Debuting for model year 1960 and manufactured through 1963, the 356B introduced noticeable exterior design updates to Porsche's core sports car. Front fenders were raised along with headlights and bumper heights, while an enlarged front trunk lid improved luggage access. Body iterations split into the early T5 series with a single engine deck lid grille and the 1962 T6 revision featuring twin engine deck grilles and an external right-fender fuel filler. Drivetrain advancements included the smooth Type 741 four-speed manual transaxle and the high-output 90-horsepower Super 90 engine option. Total production reached 30,963 units across Coupe, Cabriolet, Roadster, and Karmann Notchback bodystyles before the 356C succeeded it.
