Land Rover Series III

1971–1985·Series Series III

Serving as the final leaf-sprung generation before the coil-sprung Ninety and One Ten line, the Series III was produced from 1971 to 1985 with approximately 440,000 units manufactured. The platform introduced a fully synchronized four-speed manual transmission, a fresh molded radiator grille, and a modernized crash-padded dashboard alongside five-bearing engines and an optional Stage 1 V8. In-person diligence requires inspecting the gearbox laygear bearings for decel whining, checking the bulkhead for rot concealed behind the plastic fascia, and testing the Lucas electrical fuse panel for corrosion.
