2011 Rolls-Royce Ghost
automatic · Fort Worth, TX
Introduced at the 2009 Frankfurt Motor Show as the production evolution of the 200EX concept car, the first-generation Rolls-Royce Ghost established an accessible, driver-focused companion to the towering Phantom flagship. Utilizing an extensively re-engineered steel monocoque architecture sharing basic structural geometry with the BMW 7 Series, Goodwood engineers incorporated unique double-wishbone front suspension, active multi-link rear geometry, and sophisticated four-corner air springs. Powered by a potent 6.6-liter twin-turbocharged V12 engine producing 563 hp and 575 lb-ft of torque mated to a ZF 8-speed automatic transmission, the Ghost delivered effortless, near-silent acceleration. Over an eleven-year production run spanning Series I, Extended Wheelbase, Series II, and sinister Black Badge variants, roughly 15,000 examples were handcrafted at Goodwood, becoming the most commercially successful motor car in Rolls-Royce history.
