Audi Quattro

1980–1991·Series Ur-Quattro

The Audi Ur-Quattro (Type 85) and homologation Sport Quattro (Type 859) are landmark all-wheel-drive sports coupes manufactured between 1980 and 1991 in Ingolstadt and Stuttgart, Germany. Total production spanned approximately 11,452 long-wheelbase Ur-Quattro units alongside exactly 214 short-wheelbase Sport Quattro Group B homologation specials. Powered by turbocharged inline-five engines producing between 200 hp and 302 hp mated to five-speed manual transmissions with center and rear mechanical differential locks, the Quattro revolutionized international rallying and established permanent all-wheel drive as the benchmark for high-performance passenger cars.
