GarageScout Take

A longhood 911T Targa, purchased by the seller in 1977 as a non-running project, retains a 1972 2.4-liter flat-six with mechanical fuel injection and a five-speed 901 transaxle. The seller replaced its shorted front wiring harness with a factory harness, and the engine reportedly turns after being kept filled with oil. It remains non-running, with electronic ignition components to replace, removed brake calipers, rust at the jack points and behind portions of the front fenders, and carpeting requiring replacement.

Strengths

  • Longhood Targa configuration
  • Factory wiring harness replacement
  • Seller ownership since 1977

Watch For

  • Non-running project requiring mechanical inspection and recommissioning
  • Electronic ignition components require replacement
  • Rust at jack points and behind portions of front fenders
  • Odometer accuracy is unknown and total mileage is unknown
