GarageScout Take

Completed in June 1970 and delivered new through Voitures Paris Monceau in France, this Series II Espada retains copies of its factory build and test sheets along with vehicle literature and records. Its 3,929cc quad-cam V12 uses six Weber carburetors and drives the rear wheels through a five-speed manual transmission. The Argento finish is believed to have been refinished between 1988 and 2018, and the cabin has black leather components from a donor car in place of the factory-specified Verde Scuro upholstery.

Strengths

  • Series II production example with documented factory completion
  • French provenance and Lamborghini anniversary participation
  • Documented build and test sheets

Watch For

  • The five-digit odometer has rolled over
  • The interior is reported to have been changed from factory Verde Scuro upholstery to black leather components from a donor car
  • The Argento finish is believed to have been refinished between 1988 and 2018
  • The car does not meet EPA emissions requirements for cars built between 1968 and 1975
