A cosmetic and mechanical rebuild was completed between 1986 and 1989, including a rebuild of the 409ci L33 V8 and two-speed Powerglide transmission. The car was delivered new to Suburban Chevrolet of Florence, Kentucky, and its power-operated white convertible top, engine-turned trim, column-mounted tachometer, and blue vinyl bucket-seat interior remain part of the specification.
