The turbocharged 2.2-liter inline-four and five-speed manual transaxle were rebuilt by Bob Slade of Slade Racing Engines in February 2008. The engine received JE forged pistons, replacement valves, springs, and guides, along with rebuilt Dell’Orto carburetors, turbocharger, wastegate, and radiator, while a black SE chargecooler and upgraded cooling controls were added. Previous ownership commissioned a single-stage black repaint with gold Turbo Esprit graphics in 2012, and the car was acquired by the current seller in August 2017.
