GarageScout Take

A 2,289cc engine rebuild, HVDA Toyota five-speed conversion, and suspension and brake overhaul were completed under current ownership. The engine uses an 89mm piston-and-liner kit, Piper BP270 camshaft, dual Mikuni HSR 42 carburetors, a Fidanza aluminum flywheel, and a C, G, & J aluminum radiator with auxiliary electric fan. Built on September 29, 1964, it was dispatched to San Francisco and is accompanied by a British Motor Industry Heritage Trust certificate, the removed four-speed gearbox, and other spare parts.

Strengths

  • Rust repairs and multiple repainting stages, with current Signal Red single-stage epoxy
  • Hood misalignment, paint spidering, rocker scrape, dents, stone chips, and aged bumper chrome
  • Cracked fog-light lens, repaired soft-top tear, torn shifter boot, and door locks inoperative
