GarageScout Take

An inaugural-year C4S with the factory wide-body hardware, a manual gearbox, and the unusually well-equipped Technic, Carbon, and heated-seat combination. Mileage sits near the high end for the generation, while the car’s current wrap conceals its Arctic Silver finish and follows documented paint repair to the hood and driver’s-side rear window area; the replacement short block was installed after bore scoring in cylinder 6.

Strengths

  • Inaugural-year 996 Carrera 4S with the Turbo-look wide body and all-wheel drive.
  • Factory Advanced Technic, Carbon, and Heated Front Seats packages, plus supple leather upholstery and Porsche-crested headrests.
  • Documented 2005 short-block replacement under Porsche warranty, with 39 CARFAX service entries.
  • Includes the owner’s manuals and toolkit.

Watch For

  • A previous wrap was removed, followed by paint repair to the hood and driver’s-side rear window area before the current wrap was installed.
  • The current Boneyard White Inozetek wrap is not the factory Arctic Silver Metallic finish.
  • The short block was replaced because of bore scoring in cylinder wall 6.
