GarageScout Take

This is a purpose-built trail TJ, with a Hemi and Atlas drivetrain, 39-inch Krawlers, coilover suspension, and locked 5. At 47,000 miles it sits below the middle for this generation, while red is uncommon among observed examples.

Strengths

  • The drivetrain includes a 545RFE automatic sourced from a 2004 Ram pickup.
  • Bodywork includes a fiberglass hood, metal half doors, and a Dzus-fastened fabricated roof cap.
  • The tub combines LizardSkin ceramic coating with black bedliner material.

Watch For

  • The Carfax reports a December 2005 accident followed by an insurance total-loss declaration, with salvage and rebuilt-title entries
  • A December 2013 Carfax entry shows a mileage inconsistency, although the report says it may be a clerical error.
  • The seller says the 39-inch BFGoodrich Krawler tires should be replaced before highway driving.
  • The Carfax shows registration in a county declared a FEMA flood disaster area in September 2005, and the body was repainted red under prior ownership.
