GarageScout Take
A body-off refurbishment included rebuilding the 1.7-liter V4, replacing the clutch and clutch master cylinder, overhauling the suspension, and refreshing cooling, braking, and exhaust components. The four-speed manual transaxle received a transmission saver kit and reverse lockout kit sourced from Jack Ashcraft of Ashcraft Saab, while PerTronix electronic ignition and Dynamat sound insulation were also installed. The fiberglass body was refinished from blue to two-stage yellow, with the bumperettes deleted during the work.
