GarageScout Take

Short-wheelbase 912 with a big-bore engine rebuild completed in California before the current owner purchased it in 2002. The owner has driven it fewer than 10,000 miles since the rebuild, changed the oil annually, stored it each winter, and serviced it every spring. The current white finish was applied over the original Tangerine paint, with chips noted on the hood and rear decklid, and the generator light occasionally appears at idle.

Strengths

  • Short-wheelbase configuration
  • Big-bore engine rebuild
  • Long-term ownership and seasonal care

Watch For

  • Current white paint was applied over the original Tangerine finish
  • Small chips on the hood and rear decklid
  • Inoperable clock and disconnected Jensen radio
  • Headliner holes, seat tear, dashboard crack, and interior wear
