A professionally installed GM ZZ427 crate engine replaced the original powerplant in December 2023, with Karl Chevrolet dyno-testing it at 540 HP and 540 lb-ft of torque. It retains an M21 close-ratio four-speed with the factory shifter, a 12-bolt 3.73-geared Positraction rear end, and F41 suspension with boxed trailing arms. The body-off restoration keeps the factory-correct code YY Butternut Yellow exterior and code 761 Black interior, along with the original Protect-O-Plate and April 12, 1967 dealer inspection order form from Hoebler Chevrolet of Pittsburgh.
