A 289ci V8 replaced the original inline-six during a refurbishment completed under prior ownership about a year ago. That work included a repaint, red and white reupholstered interior, front disc-brake conversion, power steering, aluminum radiator, Edelbrock intake and carburetor, tubular headers, and dual exhaust. A Texas reassigned VIN plate is riveted to the car, while the factory warranty tag remains in the driver’s door with a matching number.
