GarageScout Take
The Dragon is a one-off coachbuilt roadster shaped around a 1966 Alfa Romeo 2600 drivetrain, with its own space-frame chassis and hand-formed aluminum bodywork. Its heavily modified construction places the Alfa mechanicals in a bespoke car, not a factory-built Spider.
Strengths
- One-off coachbuilt roadster with bespoke aluminum bodywork by Steve Bonacker of Stray Dog Garage.
- Original 1966 Alfa Romeo 2600 Spider mechanical components retained in a custom space-frame build.
- Presented at the 2008 SEMA Show.
- Custom chassis, suspension, and four-wheel disc brakes distinguish it from a standard Alfa Romeo Spider.
Watch For
- This is a heavily modified coachbuilt vehicle rather than a factory-built Alfa Romeo Spider.
